I bought this rain poncho as an alternative to wearing a rain suit and backpack rain cover for my camino walks, and even though it looks a bit strange to begin with, it is one of the best investments I made! It keeps you and your backpack nice and dry, is easy to put on and take off, and because of the size and width of it, it allows lots of air to circulate so you don't get clammy and wet on the inside of it. It has a zip and velcro down the front, elastic at the wrist and a little peak on the hood, so even your face is protected from the rain. I had a few very hard and sudden rain bursts on my walk, so I kept my Altus open at the front, hanging on the backpack, ready to pull on when the next shower came. Brilliant! I love it!

Found your poncho through a blog. Once ordered the service was great with the poncho being delivered very quickly to Australia. Before I left to walk the Camino in May there was lots of rain in Sydney, so I was able to trial the poncho. It worked very well. Just returned from walking 850 kms on the camino in Spain. Some days it rained so needed the poncho. Found I was able to put it on/take it off by myself without too much difficulty. It kept me and my backpack dry. Especially liked the peaked cap. Other pilgrims had trouble with other ponchos not covering them and their backpack and with their poncho tearing but I had no touble with this one. The zip and the velcro fastenings at the front and on the sleeves also worked well. All in all an excellent product.

An excellent product. At the end of a torrential down pour of 35mm (almost 1 1/2 inches)of rain in 20 minutes, clothes and backpack were almost bone dry. Barrabes service was excellent, only 4 days between online order and delivery in Australia.

Why did no one think of this before? The perfect compromise between a backpack cover, poncho, and rain coat. Last week, my wife and I tried our rain capes in a heavy rain with 40 mph winds. From the knees up, and from the wrists up, we were dry, and that includes our packs. The capes are light and easy to put on. Neither rain not wind can penetrate them. We will be on the Camino again this spring; our rain capes will be our protection. We are experienced trekkers and we know a good product when we see it. Coupled with rain pants or gaiters, the capes will keep you warm and dry.
