"Cho Oyu" Product Description

Construction Micro Sidewall
Sidecut 125/88/111 mm
Turn Radius 16/12/15 m
Approx. Weight 1080 g
Recommended Use Ski Touring
The ski geometry used by Martina Palm, the first Swedish woman to ski on Cho Oyo, is the starting point of the current Cho Oyo ski model. Despite the wide geometry, the ski weighs only 1080g (174mm) and is thus perfect for deep snow as well as for expeditions and high-altitude tours.

A technical ski with Rocker for easier handling in varied snow and turn initiation.

Like the Nanga Parbat, the Cho Oyu has an ultra-light construction with the latest reinforcement technology for enhanced stability on hard snow. An ultra-light Pawlonia core and biaxial fiber upper and lower laminate with titanal plate and Carbon Quadrax fiber inserts provide lightweight rigidity for a reactive ski on technical terrain at high speeds.

The Flex-Tip design in a new, slim shovel geometry and micro sidewall in the binding area - just as in the Nanga Parbat model - are the perfect way to ensure load capacity on difficult terrain and a direct transfer of power, while still retaining its broad applicability.

The Cho Oyu is a technical ske with exceptional floatability and lightweight for when you have to carry it on your pack.

    Features:
  • Field of use: 100% ski touring
  • Micro Sidewall: Using less material in the sidewalls has achieved optimum weight reduction. These sidewalls are laid up in deeper horizontal layers, making them 1.5 times stronger and more impact-resistant than conventional sidewalls
  • Pin Tail: Reduced oat allows energy-saving body position over the ski and sensitive ski control even at high speeds. The tapered ski tail makes it faster and easier to feed into your rucksack's ski-carry attachment
  • Tail Rocker: Gently increases radius for good control at high speeds even on steep, icy terrain
  • Dual Radius: the combination of a long front radius and short rear radius gives ultra-steady handling going into and out of curves. The ski therefore needs less effort for wide turns while easily negotiating tight ones. The short radius of the ski tail enables highly precise speed control on steep, icy terrain.
  • Carbon Speed Stringer: Optimised weight-performance ratio without using carbon is almost unthinkable. The Dynafit Lightweight construction systems are designed to enable you to increase the torsional rigidity of your boot-binding systems at any time, to allow more athletic handling and turn up the speed for tour descents. That's why Dynafit sees the use of carbon roving stringer at the girt as a natural progression. This optimises the ski's vibration damping capability and ability to regain its original position without having to sacrifice any of the ski's forgiving and friendly handling or its wide application range.
  • Scoop Rocker: The evenly increasing radius up to the ski tip allows a really smooth and steady ex when impacted from the front. On crusty or corn snow alike the Scoop Rocker acts as a bumper, delivering a smooth ride every time
  • Flex Tip: Through its 3D carbon construction, the ext ip ahs become the most lightweight component with the greatest resilience and the best vibration-damping capability. Like a mountain bike's suspension fork, it just smoothly absorbs any impact and the carbon inlay ensures a mm, swift damping effect. The 3D geometry reduces mass and weight. The slim construction of the shovel ensures you keep ski wander in check on sloping terrain.
  • Sidecut for 174cm: 125/88/111 mm. Radius: 16/12/15 m.
  • Approx. weight for 174cm: 1080 g/each.
