XAVI FANÉ - Crested Butte, the Rockies, Colorado.
Xavier Fané was born in Barcelona, 1960.
From a very young age, he showed a concern for breaking away from tradition. This led to him to abandon his studies and set out on an adventure which is still going strong. The Pyrenean mountains helped develop his avidity towards the natural environment, leading to a professional career in mountaineering and skiing. Xavi spent time working as an experienced ski instructor in the Pyrenees and Swiss Alps and as a mountain hut guard in summer. At a later period, his thirst for new challenges further a field led him to Crested Butte, a small village in the Colorado Rockies, where he set up his home and base for adventure, in 1984.
Since 1990 he has worked as an eclectic international correspondent for numerous sport publications, including our Barrabes magazine. His profession has served as a perfect means to transmit his passion for nature and outdoor sports.
EDUARDO VIÑUALES - Zaragoza, Spain.
Writer and naturalist. Member of the Association of Environmental Journalists in Spain, APIA. He works in the Environment Department at the Government of Aragón and collaborates with his texts and photographs in numerous publications dedicated to nature, the environment and travel: Quercus, Integral, Altaïr, Viajes National Geographic, Hola, etc.
He is also the author of approx. ten books and mountaineering guidebooks, published by a variety of publishers ((Anaya, El País Aguilar, Sua, Prames, Lunwerg...). Since 1995 he has written for a weekly environmental section in the Heraldo de Aragon newspaper and is currently the general co-ordinator of the “Red de Espacios Naturales Protegidos en Aragón”, RENPA. He has received several awards for his work as a journalist.
DAVID MUNILLA
One of Spain’s most international mountain and action sports photographers as well as a veteran, David has over 18 years experience as a reporter and photographer, and has produced renowned works of a world-wide reference. His articles and images have been published in climbing & mountaineering magazines all over the world and the technique and originality of his photography has surpassed frontiers.
He currently runs his own press agency and continues to travel all over the world climbing, diving or carrying out any other outdoor sport which gives a chance to action photography. His career as a journalist has led to his current position, writing his own articles and personal accounts of a social, ethnic and travel nature.
