This device allows users to descend a rapel in safety and can also be used as a belay device either for the lead climber or to bring up the second climber on the rope; all three functions in just one device.
To descend in rapel: For all rapel descents, big or small, it is fundamental to use a security system as well as a braking system to avoid possible falls or accidents. The advantage of the Mascott is that the security system is automatically integrated into the descender, which saves time and offers extra safety during the descent
Instructions
For 7.5 to 8.6mm double ropes and for 9 to 10mm single ropes
Attach by threading the rope through the slots in the device
Attach the locking carabiner to the rope loop
Tighten the loop
Check locking capacity of device
Begin descent while regulating speed
Device is self locking for greater safety
Belaying the second climber Use the self-locking plate to belay the second on the rope in comfort and safety.

Instructions
Thread the rope loops through the holes in the device. Then attach the loops to two locking carabiners and connect the carabiners to the harness
Feeds the rope easily
To retain a fall, hold rope below the device. For a dynamic belaying hold the rope below the device and allow a small amount of rope to slip through the belay device

Rapeles seguros con un solo chisme. Un poco grande y voluminoso. Para asegurar mejor con una cesta tradicional pero cumple su funcion. Cuidado con cuerdas gruesas, bloquea demasiado o no corre. Pesa menos que el SHUNT
Si consiguen sobredimensionar un poco el aparato sera la solucion definitiva para la seguridad en los rapeles. Aun asi, es una opcion muy interesante. Volveria a comprarlo.
Rapelar con dos cuerdas de 8,6 es muy lento. Por el grosor de las cuerdas el mosquetón no va a donde tiene que ir para poder hacer bién palanca con él para que libere las cuerdas. Quizás con cuerdas de menos grosor funcione bién pero con las de 8,6 te puedes pasar media mañana para rapelar 60 metros.
Para asegurar a un o dos segundos va perfecto,para asegurar al primero mejor las cestas tradicionales.Para rapelar,con las cuerdas que utilizo yo,beal de 8,6 vas un poco lento y cuesta un poco colocar las cuerdas y apretar el mosqueton para descender.Eso si...rapelas tranquilo sin utilizar ni machard ni shunt.
En resumen:bien...pero se puede "vivir" sin el
Tiene buena pinta, pero ojo con no girar la cuerda en el rapel porque entonces no bloquea, para asegurar a primero es mejor una placa convencional, una Reverso por ejemplo.
