Tor des Géants: 1st Bosatelli, 2nd Óscar Pérez

The Italian Oliverio Bosatelli wins the the 330km Tor des Géants 2016

Oliverio Bosatelli has won the 2016 edition of the Tor des Géants, after running the 330km and 24,000m elevation gain course in a time of 75 hours and 10 minutes. Óscar Pérez, the 2012 winner came in a distant second after finishing six hours after Oliverio and Pablo Criado took third place, two hours behind Óscar.

The 47 year old Italian turned on the jets at kilometre 106 and never looked back. It can sometimes be difficult to know the positions during the race due to the quantity of runners and stopping to rest on several occasions but in this case it was obvious who the leaders were throughout.

In the women’s category, first place went to Lisa Borzani after finishing the race in 91 hours. Overall, she came in 7th place and and was followed by Stephanie Case.
