The book La Torre, a chronicle of the climbing and controversy on Cerro Torre narrates the controversy generated around Cerro Torre, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and captivating mountains. The Italian Cesare Maestri claimed in 1959 to have made the ascent to this mountain. First-rate climbers have only encountered contradictions when trying to follow their route. In 1970, Maestri used a gasoline compressor to fill the Cerro Torre wall with burins and to be able to climb in a more comfortable way. This route became one of the most repeated and controversial in the mountaineering world. The book describes and shows the versions of many of the actors involved in this controversy.
