Sasha Di Giulian and Felipe Camargo - First Free Ascent of Planeta Dos Macacos (8a+)

The North American and Brazilian climbing duo have managed to free Planeta dos Macacos route in Brazil, 650m (8a+).
Sasha Di Giulian, from the U.S and Felipe Camargo, from Brazil, have made the first free ascent of “Planeta dos Macacosâ€, a 650m big wall route (8a+), in the Pedra Riscada Massif, São José do Divino, Brazil. A Chilean climbing team began the route in 2012.

Both hard and experienced climbers took just two days to free the fourteen pitches on the route known as the Brazilian Yosemite. The toughest section was at the halfway point and both climbers suffered from the Brazilian weather conditions, which changed constantly from extreme heat and sun to wind, rain and cold during the two day climb.
