Renewed DMM ice axe that is precise and balanced for difficult icefalls and modern mixed climbing. The Apex offers optimal balance and striking accuracy for the toughest routes.

Despite its aggressive appearance, the Apex is comfortable on a wide variety of terrain. The shaft curve has been precisely engineered to provide clearance and stability on steep terrain, while still being effective when dipping, daggering, and moving on easier angled snow slopes.

The Apex is fully T-rated, and the head and handle are double-riveted to the lightweight aluminum shaft. This rugged construction allows the Apex to handle the burly nature of winter climbing.

The hot-forged handle also strikes a balance between performance and versatility. A straight design with a point at the base makes plunging the Apex into snow and ice easy when moving on less steep terrain. Upper and lower hand rests allow for hand pairing, which is crucial to the Apex's performance on steeper terrain.
