Despite their simple appearance, Wallnuts are very standout pieces of climbing hardware. A different alloy is used for each size - the smaller Wallnuts are made of a harder alloy to prevent cutting, while the larger sizes are softer so they can bite into locations. The larger Wallnuts feature a hollow construction to reduce weight.
Nuts can be placed in two different orientations, allowing a single nut to cover a variety of cracks. They are tapered on both the face and sides, which helps them sit better in cracks that rarely have parallel sides. Slotted faces reduce weight, help the nut sit better in cracks, improve safety in shallow locations, and resist uplift when a leader walks through them.
Wallnuts mount to cables that are rigid enough to allow for overhead placements, while flexible enough to reduce the chance of lifting. They are color coded to correspond with the rest of our protection range and to allow quick and easy selection of the correct size of your harness.
