Astride the Alt Pirineu Natural Park in Pallars Sobirà in Catalonia and the Ariégeois Pyrenees Regional Natural Park in France, this trekking takes place between refuges of wonderful landscapes and nature.

Deciduous and Atlantic forests, fir trees, pine forests, alpine meadows with countless lakes of great beauty and wild mountains, refuge for species of unique flora and fauna.

Where we may be able to see sarrios, marmots and the bearded vulture, but where the grouse and bears will hide from us.

But we are not just talking about nature, since these paths have been carved by man throughout history. The Jews in their flight from the Holocaust, the Francoists and the Spanish republicans. A dramatic and human story that also in many cases saved them from certain death in their escape to Life.

And it is in this historical context that we will travel this journey, to pay tribute to all the people who suffered persecution, economic hardship or any other reason that led them to cross these Pyrenees hills in the Libertad Mountains.
