Features ed. desnivel sierra de gredos guía de escalada
Climbing guide of the Sierra de Gredos.
The Sierra de Gredos extends in a linear way about 140 km from northeast to southwest and is characterized by the great asymmetry of its two slopes. The southern valleys and towns are found at an altitude of about 1500 m and most of the walls are located above 2,000 m.
However, the Tiétar valley is about 500 m above sea level and, near its towns, there are countless walls located over 1,500 meters and facing south.
Another peculiarity of Gredos is its continental climate that is usually dry and warm throughout the summer period. These geographical and climatological characteristics, together with the high quality of the Gredos granite, make these mountains an ideal place to enjoy rock climbing all year round except for the coldest winter months.
The objective of this guide has been to compile a good selection of routes of contrasted beauty and affordable difficulty, which serve to bring the reader closer to the great classics, more or less frequented or forgotten, and help them discover that other Gredos that has managed to fall in love with so many climbers and mountaineers. That Gredos, fragile, lonely, austere and wild that still keeps hiding stone treasures that make us enjoy every & quot; escape & quot; to the walls.
