Features ed. desnivel andinismo
The Andes mountain range is one of the most interesting destinations for the 21st century mountaineer: without the costs and bureaucracy of the Himalayas, the human concentration of the European mountain ranges or the dangers of the African ones, it has an ideal balance between virginity and infrastructure. The climate is hostile but tolerable, and it makes possible some ascent in each season of the year. In addition, the language and culture will be familiar and interesting at the same time, and the prices extremely accessible. But the high Andean mountains present difficulties different from those usual in the European mountain ranges, and moving in them requires mastering certain knowledge. Tall, isolated and lonely, they imply a commitment that has more to do with self-sufficiency than with the ability to scale high degrees of technical difficulty.
The focus of this work is on the knowledge that is required in the Andes to ascend a mountain of more than 5,000 m on a route that involves technical difficulties of up to IIIº and no more than one length of rope. In other words, the challenge that any mountaineer who wants to do their first experiences at altitude is likely to face.
This work aims to accompany the mountaineer throughout all the stages that mediate between the gestation of the idea of going to the Andes and the summit of his mountain, presenting useful information for each of them. It is also his intention to collaborate to make your trip more interesting, your experience safer and your step more imperceptible.
