The LifeStraw & reg; filter uses hollow fiber technology that is commonly used in industrial water treatment plants used in cities. The interior consists of a large number of very very fine hollow fibers. Each fiber has pores in its walls with a diameter of 0.2 microns or five hundred times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.
