Features petzl iko
The IKO rechargeable headlamp from the Petzl brand is a concentrate of technologies that offers a maximum power of 350 lumens with only 90 g of weight . This is one of the best luminous flux / weight ratios in headlamps.
Equipped with the semi-rigid and water-repellent Airlift tape , an ultra-thin front block and a power source shifted to the rear, the flashlight is balanced and comfortable to the point of forgetting it. The adjustment is also very simple and fast, being compatible by size and shape with all Petzl helmets and with practically any climbing helmet provided with adjustment tabs. The arrangement of the seven LEDs allows a homogeneous distribution of lighting for optimal visual comfort, with a wide field of vision that we can focus in case of need.
The IKO is supplied with 3 AAA / LR03 batteries (included) and is also compatible with the CORE battery (available as an accessory), thanks to the HYBRID CONCEPT construction.
Versatile, in addition to its usual use around the head or helmet, it can be worn around the neck keeping the shape thanks to its semi-rigid strap, something useful in group meetings or around a table where we do not want to dazzle anyone, leave it hanging without losing its shape, resting on any surface or it can also be transformed into a lamp , simply by inserting it into its carrying case. This tape does not absorb moisture, perspiration or rain. It is kept flat and stable when kept folded with a connection clip for more compactness and thus to be able to carry it without taking up hardly any space in any outdoor activity.
The Iko headlamp has three levels of illumination : 6 lumens for a range of 10 meters, 100 lumens for a range of 45 meters and a maximum power of up to 350 lumens.
The fact of having a single button located under the flashlight makes its operation very simple and intuitive as it can be operated with the thumb, also having a locking function.

Petzl has chosen to follow the ANSI (American National Standard Institute) protocol to measure and communicate the lighting power and autonomy of its headlamps. This voluntary decision allows the user to easily compare the lighting performance and the watertightness of the different models of headlamps with the same benchmark.
Lighting performances: how are they measured & # 63;
- Luminous flux: This measurement is made between 30 seconds and 2 minutes after the flashlight is turned on. Indicates the maximum power emitted, with new batteries or batteries, when the flashlight is turned on.
- Range (meters): This is the maximum distance between the flashlight and the place where only 0.25 lux of illumination reaches. Measurement is performed at power-up with fresh cells or batteries. The range of illumination depends directly on the power of the illumination, but above all, on the shape of the light beam.
- Autonomy (hours): Corresponds to the duration during which the lighting is optimal, from turning on the lantern until reaching 10% of the maximum power. This is followed by backup lighting.
- Backup lighting (hours): Backup lighting guarantees minimal lighting that allows walking. However, this lighting may be insufficient to practice a dynamic activity such as running, mountain biking, skiing ...
