Vibram® sole; Idro-Grip V-Smear of great grip and durability.
I bought the La Sportiva Boulder X W on a recommendation from a friend and I was blown away by the quality. At first the shoe felt stiff but they quickly broke in and formed perfectly to my feet. They are great for hot & cold weather but they do fare better when it's cooler as they are quite thick and durable. They are perfect for scrambling, short hikes, even light jogging I found, with their sticky grip on the bottom and complete support for your foot. I found the sizing ran small and I took a 40 when I normally wear 38.5. In retrospect a 39.5 would probably be better, but at this size I can wear them comfortably with wooly socks. Bottom line - great shoe!!
